The Dangers of Lead

Children Are Especially Vulnerable
The biggest risk is to children under 6. Lead can cause learning disabilities, behavioral issues, and physical and mental development, irritability, seizures, and more. At very high levels, lead poisoning can even become fatal.

Lead is Commonly Found in Homes
The presence of lead is common in homes. It becomes an issue when lead paint starts chipping or peeling. In high friction areas, lead dust can be created. Lead dust is particularly dangerous because it is airborne and can be breathed in.

Lead is Extremely Harmful
Even small amounts of lead can cause serious health problems. Since lead typically enters the body through ingesting or inhaling, it does not affect everyone and people may not recognize how truly dangerous it is.
